1. Acceptance of Terms. Checked is currently operated by its founder, Simone Matteo Corno, contactable at simone.7.corno@gmail.com, together with its co-founder, pending formal incorporation as a company. By downloading, accessing, or using Checked (the “Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service. 2. Definitions. Service: the Checked mobile application and any associated website. Shared Content: any link, video, audio, or text you submit to the Service. Verdict: the AI-generated output produced after analyzing Shared Content. Sources: the outlets or references used to support a Verdict. Subscription: a recurring paid plan purchased through Apple’s App Store or Google Play. 3. What The Service Does. Checked lets you submit Shared Content, which our AI system analyzes to identify claims and produce a Verdict — a reliability assessment supported by Sources. Free accounts include a limited number of checks per day and per month, shown in your Profile. Paid Subscriptions increase these limits as described at the time of purchase. 4. License & Restrictions. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes. You agree not to: License, sell, rent, distribute, or commercially exploit the Service. Modify, decompile, reverse-engineer, or create derivative works from the Service. Remove or obscure any proprietary notices. Use the Service to submit content for the purpose of harassment, generating disinformation, or circumventing the Service’s intended use. 5. Subscriptions & Payment. How payments actually work: All Subscription purchases are processed entirely by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play), using their in-app purchase systems. Checked never receives, transmits, or stores your card number, expiry date, CVV, or billing address. We only receive confirmation of your Subscription status from Apple/Google. 5.1 Plans. Plan: Free. Billing: —. Renewal: Daily/monthly check limits shown in-app. Plan: Paid tiers. Billing: Monthly or annual. Renewal: Auto-renews unless cancelled. 5.2 Auto-renewal & cancellation. Paid Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before renewal. You can cancel anytime from your Apple ID or Google Play account settings — cancellation is never handled by contacting Checked support directly, consistent with Apple’s and Google’s subscription requirements. 5.3 Refunds. Because payments are processed by Apple and Google, refunds are subject entirely to their respective refund policies. Checked cannot directly issue refunds for Subscription purchases. Contact Apple or Google support to request one. 6. About Our AI-Generated Verdicts. Transparency disclosure: Verdicts are generated by an artificial intelligence system, which reads Shared Content, extracts verifiable claims, and compares them against Sources. Verdicts do not constitute human editorial judgment and do not guarantee absolute accuracy. This disclosure is provided in accordance with Article 50 of Regulation (EU) 2024/1689 (the EU Artificial Intelligence Act).
